2024: A Year in Review
This time of year reminds us of the importance of connection, reflection, and gratitude. This past gardening season has been marked by growth and opportunity: with investments exceeding $4,000, we revitalized the garden area, upgraded our infrastructure, and purchased the first fruit tree saplings for our upcoming food forest project. Furthermore, the garden footprint expanded by over 1,000 square feet, allowing us to enhance our capabilities and offer even more resources for our community.
Our efforts to increase community engagement were met with enthusiasm. We successfully planned and hosted over 20 community gatherings, fostering sustainability, education, and collaboration among neighbors. These events not only brought people together but also supported the endeavors of our partner organizations and reinforced our commitment to community development. Because so many members of our community wish to be a part of Mid Shooks Run Community Garden, there is a waitlist for available garden plots and plans to expand our capacity and welcome more participants.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the participants in our community for their invaluable contributions.
Each milestone achieved is a direct reflection of the incredible teamwork and unwavering commitment you have all shown. Your efforts have resulted in a flourishing garden that not only grows wholesome produce but also strengthens our entire community.
