Cultivate Your Plot: Bed Sign-Ups Now Open

Gardening Enthusiasts,

As the days lengthen and the first hints of spring breeze through, we are delighted to kick off the much-anticipated 2024 gardening season at Mid Shooks Run Community Garden!

This morning, garden plot reservations for the 2024 season launched for the first time using our reservation page.

This year, we are piloting a new way for gardeners to reserve a community garden plot: visit our reservation page to secure your spot for a season filled with planting, nurturing, and harvest celebrations.

Bear with us - we’re not tech wizards and we’re all learning to navigate the new system at the same time, even the site developers. If you experience technical difficulties when reserving a plot, please reach out to msrgardencos@gmail.com / (719) 900-2170.

Three more items of note:

First, when you reserve a plot, you may notice two types:

  1. Grow and Give Plots (In-Kind Contribution):

    • If you sign up for one of these plots, we ask that you serve on one of the garden committees (Partnerships and Collaboration, Membership, Fundraising, Programming, Maintenance, etc.) and share a portion of the plot’s harvest with the wider community.

    • It's a beautiful way to contribute to our shared abundance.

    • These are sized small (4’ x 4’) and regular (4’ x 8’).

    • For now, each individual is limited to two small or one regular Grow and Give plot per growing season.

  2. Exclusive Harvest Plots (Fee-Based):

    • If you sign up for one of these plots, you will have exclusive use of the space.

    • Plot fees contribute to the maintenance and upkeep of the community garden and infrastructure.

    • These are sized regular (4’ x 8’) and large (4’ x 12’).

    • For now, each individual can reserve multiple Exclusive Harvest plots to scale up or down as needed.

Second, one of our goals this year is to foster even greater involvement from our community. With the growing enthusiasm for our community garden, we anticipate a wait list forming in March.

Last, if you’re new to the community garden, welcome! After you reserve a plot, a member of the team will reach out to you and schedule an on-site orientation. A specific plot will be assigned to you after completing orientation. If it’s been more than 7 days since you registered and you haven’t been contacted, please reach out to msrgardencos@gmail.com / (719) 900-2170.

Here's to another season of shared joy, shared growth, and a flourishing garden! We can't wait to see what we will grow together in 2024.

Happy gardening.
